We headed to Savannah for the day. Nice drive. We took a trolly tour of the town. It is a beautiful town. Built around town "squares" park like areas, many with statues or monuments. All lush and green full of the live oak trees and magnolia trees. Gardens of shrubs, flowers and just beautiful. Benches galore. Lots of people!

Very historic at the 13th colony.

Definitely we noticed the lack of homeless people in the area.

The trolly was large, the guide shared lots of info. We both felt a little more history vs the ghost stories and restaurant suggestions would have been nice. We looked up our questions on Google on the way home!

Beautiful homes, gorgeous churches, shops, eateries and nice board walk . The driver did an amazing job. The seats were not super comfortable. Dave was ready to get off and walk!

Lots of movie stars and places where movies had been filmed. Home of the founder of the Girl Scouts. Drove by Lady and Sons the Paula Dean restaurant. Was my choice for lunch. We did not even try to venture back as the only parking was on the street and it was completely full at 11. We saw some other well known places.

I have decided one and done for me. It's not my city. Dave concurs. We had a great drive back to Jeykell island. Drove through Brunswick. It has really grown and looks like a nice town with everything you need.

We are both glad we went. But that's a ✔️ check of the bucket list.

We ate a late lunch back in Jeykell and visited the little shopping area. It was filled with tons of kids in 4H t shirts. We had no idea that there was a huge summer camp program here for kids through 4H and the University. We explored the south side of the island. Found the camo and a few more hotels. We found the huge water park we had seen from the bridge. It was crowded and looked like a kids paradise. We took all the little roads we could find. Found a hidden boat launch and fishing area with a great beach. Lots of fisherman.

We also walked out on a beach right near the campground. Not a swim beach, had a huge seawall built out of boulders. It was the beach with all the old trees that are in pictures when you look up Jeykell Island. Fun to take pictures. We were able to see the light house on St Simon at one of our stops. We drove into the nature preserve and bird watching area. We found horses! In a stable ready for trail rides. The island has tons of bike and walking trails. Because there are so many marshes here many have raised bridge like paths.

We have enjoyed our stay here. We are just chilling tonight. Early to bed for this girl.

Headed to a new adventur mye tomorrow,!

Flag day tomorrow. Fly your American flag proudly.
