Day 1 9/3/24

Well we are off and driving again. This time we have a destination of Whidbey Island for a very special 3rd birthday! Dave's grandson Layton! Of course in our normal style we will be visiting friends and family along the way.

Back roads and beautiful scenery is the plan. We left just in time, the weather supposed to be unusually hot for the next week in Arizona. Hope we have great weather on our trip.

Tonight finds us at Wahweep In Page Arizona. We are in the campground here and it's beautiful. Little cooler than Phoenix but not a lot. But looking out at the cool blue water sure makes a difference. The lake continues to be very low, very sad but still beautiful. We drove over Glen canyon dam today. Most of the tourists were headed south so it's not too crazy busy here. First day out and a little tired for both of us. Getting everything ready at home and e had early mornings.

We took a little walk long enough to check out the lake . I still have a big skin burn on my knee from surgery so no swimming or lake water for me. So not being close was best.

Nice relaxing evening. Music, books and a little computer artsy project for me. We will head out tomorrow to Bryce Canyon.
